Bell Organ and Piano Co. Ltd. late Victorian cabinet reed organ, also known as a pump organ, manufactured in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. The wood block at the left end of the keyboard is stamped GUELPH 1778. The cast-iron foot plates are embossed with BELL on the left and GUELPH on the right.
Condition report:
The organ is in fair to good antique condition. The wooden case has accumulated surface dust and shows minor scuffs and wear to the finish consistent with age and long-term storage. The keyboard displays significant yellowing and discolouration; several keys have chipped or missing sections of the ivory or celluloid veneer. The carpeting on the foot pedals shows signs of wear but remains intact. The internal mechanical components and bellows have not been tested for functional operation.
