A handwritten interior label is visible through the f-hole, which reads: James Riley, 8 Grant Street, Accrington, 1894. The bow and antique black-painted wooden coffin-style case, the bridge, tailpiece, and pegs are currently detached and stored in the accessory pocket.

The strings are loose and tangled. The varnish exhibits general age-related surface wear, scratches, and minor chipping to the edges. No significant cracks are immediately apparent. The bow hair is loose and requires replacement. The wooden case shows significant exterior wear and paint loss, and includes a worn leather securing strap.
