A vintage novelty ceramic egg cup modelled as the nursery rhyme character Humpty Dumpty, produced in the mid-20th century in the style of Carlton Ware nursery ceramics. No manufacturer marks are visible.
Condition report:
The item shows signs of age and significant wear. A prominent vertical hairline crack runs down the back of the egg-head from the rim. There is noticeable wear to the over-glaze polychrome decoration, particularly on the character\'s nose and around the jagged top rim. The piece exhibits fine surface crazing throughout and minor staining, especially to the underside of the base.
