A pair of children’s books from the Bong Book series, comprising The Obliging Elephant and The Thirsty Dragon, both written by Brian Grimshaw and illustrated by Leslie S. Haywood. Published in London by Hammond, Hammond & Company, Ltd.
Condition report:
Both volumes show significant wear consistent with age and use. The pictorial boards exhibit heavy edgewear, bumped and rubbed corners with some loss to the paper covering, and surface scuffing. The yellow spine of The Obliging Elephant is heavily darkened and stained. The interior title pages of both books display moderate to heavy foxing and brown spotting. A small white adhesive sticker with the printed number 1468 is attached to the spine edge of The Thirsty Dragon. No dust jackets are present.
