A twenty-one piece English bone china tea service by Hammersley and Co of Burslem, produced for their Chelsea Royal Pottery line comprising six tea cups, six saucers, and six side plates forming six complete trios, together with one large scalloped serving plate, one slop or sugar bowl, and one cream jug. The base of the pieces bears a circular printed backstamp featuring the text Hammersley and Co, Burslem, Chelsea Royal Pottery, England, around a central crown and shield device.
Condition report:
The service is in good overall condition. There is visible surface wear to the gilt lustre on the rims and handles, consistent with age and use. No significant chips, cracks, or professional repairs are apparent. Adhesive lot labels are present on some pieces.
