A collection of six hardcover volumes published by the Folio Society, each presented in its original publisher’s slipcase. The group comprises: Robert Louis Stevenson’s Travels with a Donkey in the Cevennes, bound in olive green cloth; George and Weedon Grossmith’s The Diary of a Nobody, featuring a cream spine with a street lamp illustration; James Edward Austen-Leigh’s A Memoir of Jane Austen, bound in peach cloth with silver-toned lettering; Axel Munthe’s The Story of San Michele, in tan cloth with a tree motif; Samuel Johnson and James Boswell’s Journals of the Western Isles, bound in green cloth with a black title label; and Folk Tales of the British Isles, in a black cloth binding with decorative gilt elements. Most volumes feature the Folio Society imprint at the base of the spine. The books are standard octavo in size.
Condition report:
The volumes are in good overall condition. Spines remain generally bright with minor shelf wear. The slipcases show light scuffing, rubbing to the edges, and occasional minor marking consistent with age and handling. One slipcase has a small inventory sticker numbered 1468 affixed to the base.
