A vintage British-made 13-note chromatic metallophone, marketed under the name The New Xylette. The instrument comprises a red-painted wooden frame supporting thirteen metal bars arranged in a chromatic scale from C to C. The box lid is printed with the text 13 NOTES C to C Chromatic with Ten Minute Tutor & one beater, The New XYLETTE with Metal Notes, and Made in England.
Condition report:
The instrument is in good vintage condition with minor surface wear and light oxidation to the metal bars consistent with age and use. The wooden frame retains most of its red finish. The original cardboard packaging is in poor to fair condition, showing significant wear, creasing, and tearing, particularly at the corners and edges. The instruction booklet is present but curled from storage.
