This Victorian mahogany fold-over card table was produced by the prestigious firm Ross & Co of Dublin. The piece features a rectangular top with rounded front corners and a moulded edge. It is transcribed as: ROSS & CO / MANUFACTURERS / 8, 9, 10, ELLIS’S QUAY / DUBLIN. The mahogany displays a rich, deep patina and well-defined grain.
Condition report:
The table is in good antique condition, showing character and wear consistent with its age. The exterior mahogany top exhibits some surface scratches, minor indentations, and light water marks or blooming to the finish. The green baize interior is in good condition with a visible central fold line and light wear, but retains its colour well. There are some minor chips and losses to the veneer on the inner corners of the frame. The structural integrity is sound, the leg turnings remain crisp, and the casters are intact.
