A pair of facing, recumbent lions modelled in the Medici style, possibly of Staffordshire origin. The underside of each base features a circular vent hole with faint impressed marks in the surrounding recessed area, including a character resembling the letter M or W and several indistinct numerical digits.
Condition report:
The figures are in good overall condition, displaying fine age-related crazing throughout the glaze. Minor surface wear and small scratches are present, consistent with age and use. There are small chips and abrasions to the unglazed edges and corners of the underside of the bases.
