This lot comprises a variety of 20th-century British ceramic items. The primary piece is a large Royal Doulton character jug depicting Captain Ahab, model number D 6500. Included is a smaller character jug depicting a smiling man with a ruddy complexion wearing a simple brown cap; a large earthenware chamber pot; an assortment of miniature glazed ceramic figurines, commonly known as Wade Whimsies, contained in a metal tin. This collection features various animal forms including a rabbit, hedgehog, lion, and lamb.
Condition report:
The Royal Doulton Captain Ahab jug is in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restoration. The smaller character jug appears intact with some light surface wear. The chamber pot shows some internal staining and minor wear to the decoration consistent with age and use. The collection of Wade Whimsies is in mixed condition; while many figures appear intact, several broken and damaged pieces are visible within the tin.
