A large Chinese porcelain vase of baluster form featuring a flared neck and a wide rolled rim, dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The underside bears a six-character mark in underglaze blue reading Shende Tang Bogu Zhi (慎德堂博古製), which translates as Made for the Hall of Prudent Virtue and Ancient Antiquities.
Condition report:
The vase is in generally good condition with no visible cracks, chips, or restorations. There is minor surface wear to the enamels and some light kiln spotting and pitting consistent with the period of manufacture. The unglazed foot rim shows typical darkening and shelf wear.
