A pair of 19th-century topographical prints depicting scenic views in the English Lake District. The first work is a hand-coloured wood engraving titled BRANTWOOD, CONISTON.—RESIDENCE OF MR. RUSKIN. The second work is a steel engraving after George Pickering (British, c.1794-1857), engraved by Daniel Buckle, titled GOLDRILL BECK & ULLSWATER, CUMBERLAND. No plate marks or edition details are visible behind the mounts.
Condition report:
Both prints exhibit age-related toning. The Ullswater steel engraving shows visible foxing to both the print and the mount. The frames appear to be in good overall condition with minor surface wear.
