A pair of mid-20th-century watercolours on paper by Bridget Eaves. The first work, identified as Lot 170, depicts a town square with shopfronts and a prominent uniformed figure in the foreground, rendered with loose, atmospheric washes. The second work, identified as Lot 171, is inscribed PULBOROUGH in the lower-left corner and illustrates a village street featuring red brick buildings and telegraph poles. Both works are initialled B.E. in the lower-right corner.
Condition report:
Both watercolours show visible toning to the paper consistent with age. There are several small foxing spots present on the mount of the Pulborough scene. The frames show light surface wear and minor scuffing to the edges. The works appear to be in good overall condition with no significant fading or damage to the paper.
