A substantial collection of English earthenware dinner and tea service pieces manufactured by Johnson Brothers in the Indian Tree pattern. The bases bear a black printed backstamp featuring a crown motif, the pattern name INDIAN TREE, and JohnsonBros England. The mark also includes the text ALL DECORATION UNDER THE GLAZE PERMANENT & ACID RESISTING COLORS. A GENUINE HAND ENGRAVING.
Condition report:
The service is in good used condition with vibrant colours throughout. Commensurate with age and use, there are instances of light surface scratching, minor nicks to the rims of some pieces, and fine crazing to the glaze. Potential bidders are advised that the lot contains a high volume of items which have not been individually inspected for minor defects.
