This collection of industrial inspection instruments was formerly utilised at Heysham Power Station. The set includes Elcometer 145.The kit also includes a whirling hygrometer (sling psychrometer) manufactured by Whelpie Instruments of Wallsend (serial number 620862), comprising twin red-spirit thermometers mounted in a blue-painted metal frame with a black vinyl zip-case. Supporting equipment includes a high-visibility yellow industrial flashlight marked for use in Class II hazardous environments, a chipping hammer with a yellow-painted handle, a silver-toned cylindrical probe tool, and various accessory pouches and small parts in a clear bag. The interior design of the case is consistent with high-end English manufacture.
Condition report:
The collection shows clear signs of industrial field use throughout. The briefcase exterior exhibits scuffs, minor abrasions, and surface marks. The leather protective cases for the instruments show age-related wear, rubbing, and surface staining. The chipping hammer has significant paint loss consistent with heavy use. All instruments are sold as historical items; mechanical and optical calibration has not been tested, and operational functionality is not guaranteed.
