A George III period oak bureau of traditional English country design. No maker marks or stamps are visible.
Condition report:
The bureau shows significant signs of age and heavy historic use consistent with the 18th century. The interior writing surface and exterior fall-front display extensive scratching, staining, and numerous historic ink marks. There is general scuffing, chipping, and wear to the edges of the carcase and the bracket feet. The drawers and lopers appear functional, though they show typical wear to the runners and sides. The wood has developed a deep, dark patina with various surface abrasions throughout.
