This mid-20th-century topographical scene depicts Glasson Dock in Lancashire, specifically featuring the Caribou Hotel signed and dated W.H. Brockbank 1967 in the lower-left corner. Condition report:
The paper substrate shows general toning and yellowing consistent with age. There is significant and visible mat burn around the inner edge of the mount aperture, indicating acid migration from a non-archival mat. The colours appear relatively stable, though there may be some minor light-induced fading typical of the medium. The frame and glazing show minor surface wear and dust accumulation.
