An antique cylinder music box of Swiss origin, dating to the late 19th century. A colourful lithographed tune sheet is affixed to the underside of the lid, listing eight melodies including Salut my Bicycle by Le Brun, The Gondoliers Dance by Sullivan, and Old folks at home by F. Christy. A handwritten serial number 10469 is visible on the tune sheet. This item is in working condition.
Condition report:
The exterior wooden case shows signs of age-related wear, including surface scuffs, scratches, and minor veneer losses, particularly concentrated around the lower edges and corners. The interior glass cover is present. The metal components of the movement exhibit some surface oxidation and tarnish consistent with age. The lithographed tune sheet is intact and legible, though it shows minor staining and pinholes at the corners. The mechanism is reported to be in working condition.
