Two early 20th-century picture frames each featuring hallmarked silver mounts over an oak wood substrate. One is a rectangular upright portrait frame of upright portrait with a shaped arched top and an integrated wooden easel stand to the reverse bearing the hallmarks for Birmingham, including the date letter k for 1909, and maker mark W.J.M&Co for William John Myatt and Co. The second is circular picture frame with a plain silver rim and an oak wood back held by metal swivel clips hallmarked for Birmingham and the date letter b for 1926, with an indistinct maker mark.
Condition report:
Both items exhibit significant signs of age and wear. The rectangular frame shows heavy tarnishing and visible thinning of the silver layer on the raised edges and corners, with some areas worn through to the underlying material. The circular frame displays moderate surface tarnishing and light scratching. The oak backings on both frames show typical age-related drying and surface wear but remain structurally sound and functional.
