The auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £30

Buyer's Premium:

A collection of 16 loose faceted precious gems and stones, categorised by handwritten vendor labels on the underside of their storage containers. The assortment includes gemstones identified by the vendor as Burma rubies, blue sapphires, and emeralds.

There are 6 rubies, four housed in square cases and two in round jars. These appear to be deep red to purplish-red in colour and exhibit significant natural internal inclusions and some surface-reaching fissures. Facet cuts include oval and rectangular emerald-cut styles.

The blue sapphires consist of five stones, with four in square cases and one in a round jar. These appear to be very dark, inky navy blue in colour and are somewhat opaque with visible internal inclusions. Observed cuts include pear-shaped and oval styles.

There are 4 emeralds in square cases. These appear to be medium to dark green in colour, exhibiting prominent internal jardin inclusions and some clouded areas. Facet cuts include two rectangular emerald-cuts and two oval styles.

Additionally, there is one large faceted stone in a round clear jar of a teal to blue-green colour, cut in a round/oval brilliant style, which lacks a visible corresponding label.

The stones are sold as viewed without independent laboratory certification to confirm geographic origin or treatment status.

Square display cases: approximately 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm.

Condition report:

The gemstones are all loose and faceted. They exhibit varying degrees of internal inclusions and natural fissures, which are characteristic of these stone types. Minor wear and occasional tiny flea bite chips are visible on some facet edges consistent with handling. The plastic display cases and round jars show heavy surface scratching and scuffing.
