This collection features an assortment of vintage ladies’ evening accessories dating from the mid-20th-century, approximately the 1950s to 1960s. The lot includes two fur stoles and two evening bags. One stole is composed of brown fur, likely mink or a similar short-pile fur, and is finished with a tonal satin lining featuring a woven damask floral pattern. The second stole is crafted from fur, possibly rabbit, displaying horizontal dark brown and grey stripes against a pale cream ground. The interior of this stole is lined with a dark brown fabric decorated with a small white polka-dot pattern.
The evening bags consist of a white sequined bag and a gold metallic bag. The white bag is heavily embellished with iridescent white sequins and beads arranged in foliate and scroll motifs. It features a gold-tone metal frame with a kiss-clasp set with two faux pearls or stones. The interior is lined in cream-coloured satin with a small slip pocket and contains a fine metal snake-link chain strap. An internal label is partially visible with the text MADE IN. The second bag is constructed from gold-tone metallic fabric with a contrasting black woven zigzag band. It includes a gold-tone metal frame and a fine metal link chain strap. The items are housed in a green cardboard box marked Lot 307.
Condition report:
The items appear to be in good vintage condition. The fur stoles show no obvious signs of shedding or significant wear to the pelts. The bag linings appear clean, and the beadwork on the white bag is largely intact. Prospective buyers are advised to expect minor age-related wear common to vintage textiles and accessories.
