A Smiths Sectric industrial wall clock dating to the mid-20th century. The circular construction comprises a dark brown Bakelite case and a cream-painted metal bezel. The off-white dial features black Arabic hour numerals and an outer minute track with triangular markers at five-minute intervals. The clock is fitted with a black spade-shaped hour hand, a tapered black minute hand, and a red centre sweep seconds hand with a circular counterbalance. The dial is inscribed Smiths Sectric below the twelve o’clock position and Made in England at the base flanking the six o’clock position. The reverse shows the synchronous electric movement housing embossed with the Smiths name and a mains power cable.
Condition report:
The painted metal bezel shows notable wear with areas of paint loss and chipping. Surface abrasions and dust are present to the Bakelite casing. The clock is sold as untested and requires professional electrical inspection and PAT testing by a qualified electrician prior to use.
