A quarto-sized single volume atlas by W. M. Higgins, titled A General Descriptive Atlas of the Earth, published in 1836 by Orr and Smith of London and W. and R. Chambers of Edinburgh.
Condition report:
The volume is in fair to poor condition overall. The binding exhibits heavy wear, including significant scuffing to the marbled boards and loss of leather at the corners and spine extremities. Internally, there is extensive water staining appearing as prominent brown tide marks on the title page and throughout the text and plates. Widespread foxing and general age-toning are also present across the leaves.
