A large-scale promotional advertising display piece for Bell’s Scotch Whisky, designed in the form of an hourglass or liquid-filled egg timer. The construction features two glass whisky bottles joined neck-to-neck by a central black sleeve, housed within a dark stained wood frame. Both bottles are labelled for Bell’s Extra Special Old Scotch Whisky, Aged 8 Years, identifying the producer as Arthur Bell and Sons, Perth. One bottle is filled with an amber-coloured liquid intended to flow between the bottles through the central orifice when inverted.
Condition report:
The piece is in good overall condition. The wooden frame exhibits some minor surface scuffs, light scratches, and small areas of finish wear, particularly around the top rim and base, consistent with display use. The bottle labels remain bright and legible with no significant peeling or tearing. The central connection appears stable and secure.
