The auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £20

Buyer's Premium:

A standard-issue British No. 4 Mk II spike bayonet, designed for use with the .303 caliber Lee-Enfield No. 4 rifle. The bayonet features an all-steel construction with a socket mount and a round-section spike blade. The socket face is clearly stamped with the model designation No 4 MK II. Below this is a single capital letter B mark, attributed to the Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) company Shirley factory. The side of the socket is incised with the numerical characters 3901 (or 5901). The item is accompanied by its correct pattern steel scabbard featuring a circular frog stud. The scabbard currently bears a temporary auction lot label marked Lot 2/ 5 May 20.

Condition report:

The bayonet is in good service-used condition. The socket and scabbard retain a significant amount of their original blackened finish, showing thinning and minor surface scratches consistent with age and field use. The spike blade remains straight and shows some surface wear and areas of light oxidation and patina but is without significant pitting. The locking mechanism appears to be in functional order. The scabbard is free of major dents and retains its original throat and frog stud.
