This is an original First World War British military map published by the Geographical Section, General Staff (GSGS), designated as No. 2733. Titled North West Europe, Sheet 4, it is a revised edition dated April 1918. It focuses on parts of Northern France and the Ardennes region, highlighting significant First World War locations such as St. Quentin, Laon, Sedan, and the course of the Oise River. The bottom margin includes the War Office publication details, the GSGS number, and a list of authorised agents for sale including E. Stanford Ltd of London, W. & A. K. Johnston Ltd of Edinburgh, and Kelly & Walsh of China. A retail price of 3/- net is also printed.
Condition report:
The map is in good overall condition for its age. It retains its original fold lines with visible creasing throughout. There is minor wear and light fraying at the intersections of the folds and along the outer margins. The paper surface remains largely clean with minimal foxing or staining. The coloured printing remains vibrant and all text is clearly legible.
