This is a vintage Wilmot-Breeden Calormeter, a functional and decorative winged radiator temperature gauge designed for early 20th-century motor vehicles. Manufactured in the United Kingdom by Wilmot-Breeden Ltd, The dial face is inscribed with the following marks: CALORMETER, WILMOT-BREEDEN LTD., PAT. NO 281781, and REG. NO 715114. The reverse side features a corresponding dial visible through the glass. The unit is currently mounted upon a tiered circular wooden display base for presentation.
Height: Approximately 12 cm (excluding display base).
Condition report:
The item is in as-found vintage condition. The plated finish shows significant pitting, surface oxidation, and wear throughout the body and wings. The dial faces exhibit yellowing and internal spotting consistent with age. The glass covers are intact. The internal temperature mechanism is present but functionality is untested.
