A late 19th or early 20th-century ceramic teapot of globular form, manufactured by Ridgways in Staffordshire and decorated in the Old Derby pattern, The base displays several markings: the words OLD DERBY printed in uppercase serif letters above a bow and arrow trademark with the name RIDGEWAYS. Additionally, there are hand-painted marks in red script including the pattern number 1704 and the decorator number 23, alongside a smudged blue mark.
Condition report:
The teapot is in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of restoration. There is evidence of minor surface wear and rubbing to the gilding, most notably on the handle and the tip of the spout, which is consistent with age and use.
