A hand-painted glazed ceramic figurine titled Wuthering Heights, depicting a female figure in nineteenth-century period costume, likely representing the character Catherine Earnshaw. While the modeling strongly resembles the form of Royal Doulton figurines such as Top O’ The Hill, this piece is an independently produced studio item. The underside of the base features handwritten inscriptions in black reading Wuthering Heights by Potter R. Johnson.
Condition report:
The figurine is in generally good condition. There is a small chip or area of glaze loss to the tip of the blue shoe visible on the underside. Minor shelf wear and darkening is present on the unglazed foot ring of the base. There are no visible cracks, professional repairs, or signs of restoration under normal lighting.
